Earlier this evening, New York State released detailed guidance for businesses eligible to restart operations in Phase I of the state’s reopening plan.
Phase I businesses include:
- Wholesale Trade
- Retail – Curbside Pickup
- Agricultural, Forestry and Fishing
A more detailed list of specific businesses under these categories can be found by visiting the state’s NY Forward website at https://forward.ny.gov/industries-reopening-phase .
In order for businesses in these categories to reopen, they need to go to the following website https://forward.ny.gov/industries-reopening-phase where they will have access to the business reopening guidelines for their specific industry. A business safety plan template for each industry is also available as is a page for affirming their commitment to follow the detailed guidelines. To reopen, businesses need to go through this guidance and affirm via the online form that it has implemented the measures outlined in the summary guidelines provided.
These are just summary guidelines and businesses are encouraged to put in place additional safety measures as they see fit. In addition, you should keep on file your reopening plan and your attestation to the state so it is available should it be requested.
Even if you have been operating as an essential business, you must also complete the attestation in order to continue to operate.
We will continue to monitor this guidance and provide updates as they become available.
