Growth, progress, technology, and community in Steuben County.......achieving the proper balance
Steuben is a beautiful county that is big on culture. The City of Corning is home to the world famous Corning Museum of Glass (CMoG) that recently completed a $60 million renovation. After spending time there you will understand glass in a very different way. While just a short walk away are the Rockwell Museum and the Benjamin Patterson Inn.
Sightseeing
Relaxation is something that everyone seeks when looking for a place to live. Steuben County prides itself on its beautiful lakeside sunsets, its gorgeous panoramas, and historic buildings. Route 54A was also named one of the Top Fifteen Scenic Drives in the World by British Airways.
Other Area Attractions
The Southern Tier is home to the third largest tourist destination in New York State and we are proud of the many fine attractions in our immediate region. Collectively these attractions present potential employees with an area rich in diverse and plentiful activities, yet free of the traffic and other negatives usually associated with larger cities. Steuben County prides itself in its beautiful lakeside sunsets, its gorgeous panoramas, and buildings such as historic churches.
Night Life
We?ll keep you jumping and jiving all night with music in the streets of many of our towns, while live concerts fill the air yearlong. Area bars, coffee shops, and brewery?s have local entertainment every weekend. You can also enjoy fine arts entertainment from theatre, ballet, and music groups in the area and national acts.
Shopping
Boutiques, antiques and specialty shops galore, a shoppers paradise is what you will find on historic Market Street in downtown Corning. Nationally recognized for its architectural styles and restoration, it is home to over 115 stores, art galleries, jewelry makers, outlets; all within a compact 5 block area. Many of our other towns, including Hornell and Bath, also contain quaint shopping districts with unique stores and locally-owned specialty shops that yield a more enjoyable, rewarding shopping experience than your average suburban mall.
